Quick Start Guide

For Parents

Mister Maker: Let's Make It! contains many unique and fun features that allow children to fully explore their creative imagination. Mister Maker is at hand every step of the way with useful hints and tips to help them.

When first installed some materials in the doodle drawers appear to be "locked". These materials do not need to be purchased but are unlocked automatically during play. The more you create the more materials are unlocked. This mechanism is designed to encourage young players to keep playing and to use their imagination by rewarding them with useful and sometimes amusing items to include in their pictures. See the paragraphs labelled REWARD throughout this guide for more information.

The app is capable of saving copies of the pictures created to the device photo library as well as the apps own picture album. The app also allows copies of the pictures created to be sent by email from the default email account on your device. By default both of these functions are disabled for your peace of mind. Please familiarise yourself with these functions as described in the relevant sections below.

To comply with the latest guidelines and best-practise we have installed "Parental Gates" at various points in the app to ensure children cannot access web-based content without your permission. This includes all functions accessed by the "Grown-Ups" button on the main home screen. In addition the email facility, if enabled, is protected by a "Parental Gate" which must be passed before an email can be sent.

Top Tips

Listen to Mister Maker and follow his advice and prompts.

Be creative and use all the materials available. If you use over 10 materials in a session, extra materials will be unlocked in the Doodle Drawers. You will also get a new material after each round in Minute Makes and Shapes Game. See each activity for more details.

Profiles

Up to 4 separate user profiles can be created, each with their own picture album, reward system and settings. You can change a user during play by tapping the profile icon in the top left corner of the Main Menu. If you delete a profile, you will lose the pictures they created and any extra materials they unlocked.

Main Menu

From here you can select all the activities as well as changing the user Settings or selecting another user Profile.

Settings

Use the sliders to adjust SFX and Music Volume levels.

Email Settings (iOS version only) allows the user to send their images as attachments via email. This function is OFF by default and must be activated by an adult each time you load the app. It is profile dependant, so you must set it up for each profile as required. Press and hold the envelope for 5 seconds until the circle fills to unlock then slide to activate it. Remember that even when you have enabled the email function in Settings, you will still be asked to pass a "Parental Gate" each time you wish to send an email.

Doodle Drawers

Use the tools at the bottom of the screen and the materials from the top to create your own fantastic pictures. Be as creative as you can, the more material you use the better it will look.
Reward: Using 10+ materials in one session will unlock a new material for use in the Doodle Drawers.

Picture Album

All the pictures you create are saved here in your very own Picture Album. Tap pictures to view full screen or to use with the other features of the album. Pages of the album can be scrolled through to view all the saved pictures.

Frame It

Use this feature if you want to add a frame around one of your pictures. Scroll through the images shown and select one by tapping it. Next you can choose whether to add a message at the bottom of the picture. Next a smaller version of your picture will be opened in the Doodle Drawers so you can create a frame around it. When you are finished tap the green tick.

Minute Makes

Now it's your turn to see what you can make in a minute.
There are 2 fantastic themes to choose from, Adventures in Nature and Adventures under the Sea.

Select a theme, and then choose an item to make from the scene displayed. An example make is shown to give you some ideas, but you don't have to copy it, be as creative as you can. Tap the picture and then tap the clock to get making. When you are finished your completed make will be added to the scene. Fantastic.

Reward: Finishing a Minute Make unlocks a material for use in the Doodle Drawers, and allows access back to the Theme Scene to choose another Minute Make.

The Shapes

Mister Maker is joined in every show by his four colourful friends - The Shapes.

Wake up the shapes by tapping one then try to find the same shapes amongst the jumble on the next screen. Trace round all the shapes of the same type using your finger. When you have found them all watch as they morph into an object. There are 4 shapes to choose from and 5 levels on each.

Reward: Complete a level to unlock a material for the Doodle Drawers.
